Adventures of Patchy The Dog

Image
This dog here gave me the workout of my life. what a bitch! (pun intended hee!) if you want cheap cardio and toning exercise, i suggest you get yourself a dog... a big one. as it happens i was reversing my car from the porch, kinda in a hurry to get to Bangsar. usually patchy would have a quick jog around our street, and run back into the house again when i called for her. however this time, she ran all the way to the next street without a warning. eeek!! immediately i locked my car and chased after her, in 2-inch heels and everything. the more i called out to her, the further she ran away. she thinks its a game or something because i swear there's a smirk on her furry face. finally at 3 blocks from home, i grabbed her and attempted to carry her home. all i can say is patchy's no chihuahua. i mean after all the bacon and cheese sticks that i fed her, my arms were shaking when we made it past 2 blocks of houses. so i put her down for a second to give my arms a break, and off she...

A dose of spontaneity goes a long way

[update: my credit card problem is finally settled. phew! but my mom is still hounding me bout the alleged "smoke" in my room.] sometimes when i feel like i'm living in a cookie-cutter life, i yearn to do something crazy, like skinny-dipping, or jumping off the plane, or hunt for bigfoot, just to keep my sanity intact. but of course, those are just extreme examples. the best memory i had of being spontaneous was when a friend convinced me to skip work for a day and visit the KL zoo. the weather was wonderful, the animals serene, and we had the entire zoo to ourselves (as it happened to be a weekday). we walked hand-in-hand, making stupid animal jokes, and i wished back then the day would never end. my point is, everyone should break out of the ordinary once in a while before all the responsibilities and stress consume you. i want to know what it's like to kiss another girl.

The world's local bank

i need a man who can take care of all my bills. oh don't get me wrong, it's not about the money. i'm just incredibly ill-lucked when it comes to monthly bills. first it was Maxis who wrongly-charged me all sort of crap for 3 months in a row until they finally got it right. then my car loan bank charged me interest because my account is apparently "in arrears". heck, i don't even know what that means. here comes the mother of all fuckups. i paid 800 bucks (the full amount) for my previous month's credit card bill through a cash deposit machine. when i received my latest credit card statement, the bank only deducted 200 bucks from the total amount plus interest for accumulated unpaid sum. ohkaay, so they've got it wrong and i have the receipts to prove it. (yeah i did something totally out of character and kept the receipts! can u believe it??) fyi, i paid the bills in two turns, rm200 and rm600, because apparently 16 notes is too much for the stupid mac...

The forbidden apple

My work is mounting, annual appraisal is next week and my stress level is at a record-breaking high. on top of it, my company signed me up for Microsoft.net training which commences from 6.30 to 9.30 every weekday nite, for 2-3 months i think. a colleague caught me in a state of agitation and commented, "you looked like you need a ciggie." damn right i do. i would be lying if i said i'm not the slightest tempted. the weirdest thing is, my mom seems to have ESP when it comes to my innermost thoughts. just a coupla days ago, she grilled me on the supposed ciggarette smells in my room. i say "supposed" because i have never taken a single puff in my entire 22 years-young life. "Oh c'mon.. i just came back from Bangsar, obviously i would stink of cigarette." i said. "No, i smelled it in your room even before you came home." "Then you should ask pei pei instead. maybe she's the one who smoked."

Today is THE DAY!

it totally escaped my mind today is March 8th. The Day of the Project Runway II Finale. The Day they crown Daniel V as the winner (well, i'm fervently hoping) ooh...i can't wait i can't wait... p/s: its on days like this i wish i'm living in the US of A.

I want to climb the mountain, but...

Saw something that made me paused and reflect on myself, my direction and my life basically. Climb the mountain I tried to climb the mountain today. As I reached my way up the path, I felt overwhelmed, so I had to turn back. I tried to climb the mountain today. On my journey, darkness started to fall and I was full of fear, so I had to turn to a safe place. I was ready to climb the mountain today. But it was so hot outside, I thought I better stay in my nice air-conditioned house and rest up for tomorrow's attempt. I was about to climb the mountain today. But I had so many things to do, so instead of climbing the mountain I took care of much more important tasks. I washed my car, mowed the grass and watched a big game. Today, the mountain will just have to wait. I was going to climb the mountain today. But as I stared at the mountain in its majestic beauty, I knew I stood no chance of making it to the top, so I figured why even bother trying. I have forgotten about climbing the mou...

Lazy...

sorry guys...i've been a lazy fart. i promise i'll update before going to Sudan next week.

Guess where i found my MP3 player?

Image
some random photos... all taken using my handphone! (one MP only la.... please don't have unrealistic expectations.) Al-manama mosque... the sky in Bahrain is incredibly blue and cloudless. even though the shopping mall is nice and classy, i've checked out every single shop in the vicinity within the span of 10 minutes. no wonder they love shopping in M'sia so much... me enjoying Lebanese food (some farafil thingy with goat's milk sauce) at my grandpa's house for the lion dance ceremony SMILE! me and my sis working the cam at Thai Express love this gal so much! it's great to have Min n Mz back again. background is the superb "mirror room" at Star Hill Gallery.

Hide and seek

after a nice loooooong and relaxing CNY break, i'm suddenly in the mood to blog and upload pics taken during the Bahrain trip. *record skipping* wait a minute... where the heck is my MP3 player? gawwwd...all the pics are in it. today marks the 2nd day of my futile search, apparently my MP3 player decided to pull a Mondo Magic and vanished, because i'm 100% sure i've left it on the computer table. as i was frantically digging thru drawers by drawers, i found something resembling a little red book. oh wow, whose passport could it be? okay, perhaps a more appropriate question would be, what in the world is my passport doing in the underwear drawer??? i need to get my head examine, because i can remember the prices for each of my shoes (and where i bought them) yet i can't recall where i bloody put a passport! few minutes later, i found a wad of US dollars in one of my shopping bags. ok this is kinda freaking me out. seems like i tend to choose weird hiding spots at the s...

Let Me Go Home

last night i went berserk and bought 2 bottles of Evian that set me back about 2.4 dinars. the high sodium content in locally bottled water is killing me! imagine a sodium content of 49.5 mg/L versus Evian's 11 mg/L... no wonder i'm suffering from symptoms of hypertension. water aside, i'm loving the weather in Bahrain. cold enough to parade my new jackets hehe, but not to the extent of causing frostbites. it's a wee bit dusty though, my black suede boots are turning into tan color, gawd, just like everything else here. i still don't have time to browse the Souk (something like Arabian bazaar), make a short trip to Arab Saudi (which is only 20km away) and go window shopping at the exclusive Seef District. i heard that the cheapest item at Seef is a 50 dinar pair of shorts. i guess the rich Arabs probably buy a dozen at one go out of shamefulness. my boss actually consoled me by saying that we'll return to Bahrain again at least once or twice more -_-''...

1001 Arabian Nights

it's now 5.30am Bahrain time and i can't make myself sleep. my body clock has gone haywire, probably tuning to Timbuktu's timezone because i can only sleep for 4-5 hours and eat 2 meals a day at really odd hours. i should probably start from the beginning. after the flight with Qatar Airways that took forever, me and my boss finally reached Doha (Qatar's city) to catch our transit flight. Doha Airport is small but modern, they sell lots of duty-free electronic goods, an iPod nano for example only cost bout RM800. i would have given in to temptation, if the plane to Al-Manama is not about to take off in 5 minutes time. it all boils down to the stupid delay back at KLIA, where the Arabs tried to check-in 60kg luggages (trust me its gigantic) and refused to pay the excess baggage fine. my Bahrainian customer told me that the Arabs like to buy goods in bulk, because they feel ashamed if they only bought one. well, that explains why i saw an Arab woman who opened her huge LV...

5 Stress Boosters

i'm stressed because my flight is less than 24 hours away but i have not packed a single item. i'm stressed because i could not find time to get a cobbler to fix my suede boots. i'm stressed because a psychotic asshole has been miscalling me for 5 months and still show no signs of losing interest. he misscalled me again today since 7am for at least 30 times throughout the morning. wait till i find out who you are.... just wait!! i'm stressed because i don't know what to expect from Bahrain, especially the horror stories i heard about Arab men, seems like virtually everyone has something to say bout them. i'm stressed because i could not find time to get USD notes ( yes, i am that last minute ). maybe i could perform belly dance on the street to earn some dinars haha. i'm slightly relieved because my Sudan trip is postponed to next month. all the hotels in the city (less than 5 and elevator-less, of course) are fully booked for the African Summit thingy. so u...

Welcome 2006

all the pending tasks are pilling up to my nose. stress gives me constipation. stress robs me off the ability to write in coherent sentences. three days spent in kuala terengganu but i have not tried the famous keropok lekor. my hotel room was overlooking the South China Sea yet my toes did not touch the ivory sand once. i really wanted to blog about my Xmas at Bangsar, new year at Red Box and the never-ending CNY shopping (becos i keep wearing the stuff i buy hehe). but i'll be on a semi-hiatus due to preparations for my next destination - Bahrain and africa! my new year resolution? get married and start spawning. heh... just kidding. work harder and spend less on frivolous stuff . HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!! p/s: "frivolous" does not include a certain Nokia handphone.

Client From Hell (Part II)

*Below post may contain a lot of expletives. consider yourself warned! Dear Client From Hell a.k.a Spawn of the Devil, Confuckingratulations, you have just succeeded in pissing me off royally. if you aren't my company's customer, i would have asked you to stuff your stupid Java program up your ass. firstly, let me clarify that i don't mind working late. heck, i've been skipping lunches and leaving the office after 9pm erveryday for the past week. you, on the other hand, should do your Java program before coming to my office to perform "integration testing". do you think i have a lot of free time waiting for you to complete each component before we begin testing? secondly, was it the bored look on my face that prompted you to add/modify my program requirements on an hourly basis? please fucking make up your mind because i'm tired of commenting and uncommenting my codes just to cater to your menopausal mood. or was it because my efficiency will make you look...

The Client From Hell

Super duper tiring and stressful week dealing with the Client From Hell. he changes the system requirements every three hours, in doing so he kept me on the phone for at least half an hour basically repeating the same dialogue 10 times. as if that's not enough, this Client From Hell barged into my office this afternoon and spent 3 hours testing the application and instructing additional features (again!). the saddest part is, he stood pretty firm bout the project dateline. how am i suppose to have time developing the system if he keep on intruding this way? and the even-sadder-than-having-CCTVs-in-the-office part is, he's coming again tomorrow. god help me!

Of frustrating phone calls...

what a frustrating week i had. sigh.... incident #1 i received a loan statement that unjustly charged me an extra 5 months of interest. naturally, i called them to complain about the statement. after a long, logical and heart-felt explanation of why the interest should NOT be charged, "I will forward your rayuan to my immediate supervisor", said the official. "No, this is not a 'rayuan'. this is an 'aduan' because quite obviously there have been a mistake in the statement." "Alright... and please submit a surat rayuan to make this report official." bugger. i doubt if he understood what i have said. anything that is alien to him probably goes to the file as a plea. incident #2 i dunno what to call this...underhand tactics? Company A is a customer who bought a large amount of security device from my company. i met their representative once when i did a demo for him. a few days later, he called and asked me to do some "freelance" wor...

A Cheesy Plot

this piece of news made my otherwise dull day. Woman saw a block of cheese. Woman mistook cheese for cocaine. Woman wanted cocaine/cheese so badly. Woman hired hit man to kill "cocheene" owner. Hit man is actually an undercover cop. Read all about it here !

Heelp... i've been infected!

Image
my dear sister infected me. she said i better be serious bout it or i'll suffer leper-ish symptoms *gasp* ok fine... i'll do what i gotta do... Rules: Post 5 random and weird facts about yourself, then at the end, list the names of 5 people whom you in turn infect. Also, leave a post to these people letting them know they have been infected. I spent hours putting on makeup before going out so that i'd look as if i'm wearing none at all. I'm terrible at saving (the word "terrible" is an understatement here). after four looong years, my Coins Saving Plan using the Cookie Monster jar amounts to --- ta daah--- RM 48.52 I love Bubbles, ribbons and everything blue! Junk food and McD's are my ultimate comfort food. They give me instant happiness. I'm into chick porns and The L Word. In turn, i am gonna infect The girl who returned from Melb , The girl who rescued me from Sri Hartamas , Andrea and The PMS Spell , The pig who speaks Korean and Danielle t...

The day i wore my PCC

i went to work yesterday morning in a totally chirpy good mood because i'm wearing my new PCC. then out of the blue, my colleague commented that i look noticeably fatter after the hols. there can only be 3 reasons why he uttered the despicable word: my beloved PCC actually makes me look fat (nooooo!) my new specs does not suit my face, thus causing me to look fat. my grandma has a skewed perception of thinness and i was right about the extra 10 pounds. i believe the last option is more likely because the average-sized girls back in the 1950s are probably considered buffalos in our society now. ugh! then there was a last-minute meeting at 5pm which completely dulled my senses during the 2 hours duration. so i was in a pissy mood when i rushed home for my dad's birthday dinner. i drove at 100-120 all the way back until i suddenly noticed a small piece of paper plastered on the side of my car. it had rained earlier in the evening you see, so my car was wet. is that a ...? could ...

The one with the pink cropped cardi

Image
i had a great week and a superb birthday! thanks to everyone for remembering my special day, i do not want candles on my cake anymore because my age depresses me. you would not believe the amount of food i ate for the past week. the last time i saw my grandma, she swore that i have lost 2kg and bordering on anorexia. so i thought perhaps now my grandma can finally stop hounding me about being "too thin". with all the dim sum buffet, Ramadhan buffet, Hi-tea at my dad's restaurant, birthday dinners, open house and such, i must have gained 10 pounds at least. when i reached malacca on saturday, my grandma took one look at me and said, "Aiyoh you look 2kg thinner since the last time i saw you. why aren't you eating??" at this rate i'm going to be a bag of bones by the fifth visit. meet my newly acquired Pink Cropped Cardigan. i've been searching high and low for the elusive cropped cardi that is so totally hot right now. i nearly gave up all hope of fin...
