Howlywood
alright alright...here are the pictures as promised.
the place where i'm staying is an hour's drive away from LA. as you can see, i was sorely disappointed when we entered LA city for the first time. the buildings just seemed so aged and...err..on the low side?
the famous Hollywood Boulevard where the walk of fame is located. there are lots of street performances as well as people in costumes parading along the street. Kodak Theater, Wax Museum and the Chinese Theater are all located here too. kind of disappointed again, not as Hollywood-ish as i expected it to be.
by nightfall we decided to just cruise around town with the help of the map. we cruised down Santa Monica and Sunset Boulevard, all the way to Beverly Hills. and we stumbled into Rodeo Drive, right in the center of Beverly Hills. i have always wanted to go there after watching Pretty Woman! best thing is, it's every bit as Hollywood-ish as i imagined.
coincidently, a private party is held at the House of Versace for the cast and crew of The Bold & The Beautiful on that night.
Last weekend, we took a trip a Sequoia National Park and i bonded with my inner outdoorsy child. its about 5 hours drive away up north and the scenery is breathtakingly beautiful. you just need to pay $20 per car admission, and you could drive the car all the way up the mountain, stopping whenever you please (now you know why i love the place, no vigorous walking involved). my first american picnic, at the picnic spot below.
further up the mountain, lies the huge Sequoia (redwood) trees. there's a sign displaying that it is the largest living thing on earth. and my first sight of snow looks like...dirty ice kacang.
this spot is known as Tunnel Log, where a dead tree log is (obviously) turned into a tunnel for vehicle to drive thru.
SNOWEEE....!!
we spent the night in Visalia, a small town at the foot of mountain. needless to say, it was a great trip and hopefully i can go to Yosemite National Park next. i love the weather and outdoors in Cali, but missing KL nightlife and buzz. it's gets so blah here at night. perhaps next stop, strip club scene?
